CRONOS God of time in Greek mythology. He showed up to Zeus as an old, long white hair man, with beard. Most of time he stayed with a force  that was out of younger god’s reach and their power.

 

ZEUS The Greek god Zeus was the top Olympian god in the Greek pantheon,

 ruler of Mount Olympus, and king of sky and thunder. His attributes include the

thunderbolt, the bull, the eagle and the oak. He spawned many heroes and heroines

 and participated in a lot of their stories. He was the equivalent of the Roman god Jupiter.

 

 

 

OSIRIS The information we have is derived from texts in the pyramids. He was the oldest son

of Earth god and the sky goddess. Osiris was the god of resurrection, a symbol of fertility and

regeneration of Nile. He is the god of the vegetation and the agriculture and he also presides at

 the trial court of dead in Egyptian mythology. He is represented mummified with a green or black face, an Atef crown, the crook and the whip. Occasionally, he is given the form of fish. He was a cultural hero, legendary king, and founder of Egyptian nation, who taught civilization, laws, agriculture and how to worship the gods. Osiris dies as a man but resurrects like immortal.

 

HERACLES was a hero and a demigod, the last son who Zeus got with mortal women in Greece. He was the greatest among the Greek mythical heroes, the model of masculinity par excellence, being his extraordinary force one of his attribute. Two months after his birth, Hera, who was Zeus’ wife but wasn’t Heracles’ mother, s, sent two snakes to kill him in his cot while he was sleeping but he strangled a snake with each hand. ADONIS was represented in various mysterious religions. His cult belonged to women but his name is applied to handsome youths. The Festival of Adonis was celebrated at midsummer. Adonis is a Semitic name and means “lord”. Adonis was an eternally young god, symbolizing the death and the annual renewal of vegetation. Artemis sent him (with Aphrodite’s involvement) a boar to kill Adonis. The boar was the jealous lover of Aphrodite.

 

 

APOLO  was one of the most important gods in Greek and Roman mythologies. He was recognized as the good of the light, the sun, music, poetry, arts, medicine, archery...His father was Zeus and his mother Lento. He had a twin sister, Artemisia. They were identified in Greece as Helios, god of the sun and Serene, goddess of the moon.

                                                                                             


                                               

JADE  The word jade derives from Spanish piedra de ijada. Jade is in fact two different materials: jadeite and nephrite. It has been used for a lot of cultures. For example, in China since 1800 is a well considered stone. In the Olympic Games celebrated in this country in 2008 the medals had a ring of jade. Jade is the official gemstone of British Columbia, Alaska and Wyoming.

 

 

 

ÁGATA  is not a mineral but a set of microcrystalline varieties of quartz that can be found in various kinds of rock, normally volcanic rocks. When we cut ágata transversely, it exhibits a succession of parallel lines, similar of a tree trunk. It is considered the stone of love and produces peace and quiet in people

 

 

                                                                    ÁMBAR   is a resin, a fossil tree resin from coniferous. So, it can sometimes contain insects

                                                                                                              and little    animals. Good quality amber is used to jewels and ornamental objects. The most                                                                                                               valued is transparent  and the opaque is the less because it is very common and shows

                                                                                                               many bubbles. The yellow-brown  colour is associated with the ámbar.

                                                                                                              Cherry is common, too. It is considered the stone of balance.

 

 

 

AMATISTA  is a violet variety of quartz. The colour may be more or less intense, depending on the amount of iron it contains. In this moment it is possible to make synthetic amatista that imitates the best qualities. The name comes from Greece. An old legend says that people who owns an amatista is protected by it from drunkenness

 

ESMERALDA  It’s a highly valued gemstone. There are been discovered a lot of green gemstones but the esmeralda is the only one crystalline. An esmeralda possesses a pure verdant green hue and a high degree of transparency. Using an esmeralda the skin strengthens and a state of youth is promoted

 

AZURITA  is a soft, deep blue mineral from cooper. This mineral is known since ancient times and has been used as a blue pigment for centuries. Its blue is exceptionally deep and clear and for that reason was used by medieval painters and associated with the deep blue colour of sky in winter. Azurita is occasionally used as jewellery because it tends to lose the colour and is destroyed by heat. The azurita has been used to strengthen the mind and recognized as the stone of memory. If you wear a necklace, drop or pendant in azurite, you will remember your things for all time.
